What the pack contains

Reverse artwork identification labels

Two identical 120 × 80 mm copies for one artwork, intended for the reverse of the work and any accompanying paperwork required by the organiser. They contain the artist, artwork title, year, medium, dimensions, artwork reference, exhibition and optional artist contact details.

Hanging and installation tags

Administrative tags for matching artworks to a hanging plan during installation. They include the hanging number, location, orientation, position and fixing notes.

Packaging and return labels

Labels for wrapping, crates and other outer packaging. They identify the contents, package number, return arrangements and essential handling instructions. They must never be attached directly to the artwork.

Public wall labels

Four visitor-facing labels per sheet, with space for the artist, artwork details, optional price or sales status, a short description and an optional QR code. Some venues use their own wall-label format or house style, which should take precedence.

How to use the pack

  • Choose the label sheet required for the task.
  • Complete the editable DOCX on screen, or print the PDF and complete it by hand.
  • Print at Actual Size (100%). Do not use Fit to page or Scale to page.
  • Follow the organiser’s own instructions where they differ from this pack.
  • Keep adhesive away from the artwork surface and vulnerable materials.
  • Include private contact details only when appropriate.
  • Shorten unusually long entries and retain the full information in the accompanying inventory or delivery records.
  • The labels are not Certificates of Authenticity and do not authenticate an artwork.
