About this work

A dynamic silhouette extends across the textured ground of Aequitas, caught in an act of physical balance and suspension. Painted in acrylic, the composition contrasts a warm red and deep green figure with pale impasto marks, held in tension by precise diagonal lines and a grounded oval form. Part of Andrew Bowers’ figurative studio practice, the painting reflects on equilibrium and bodily presence, moving between representation and formal abstraction.
