This portfolio brings together Andrew Bowers’ original landscape, portrait and figurative paintings. His Quiet Divides series draws on Yorkshire and other places he has lived and walked in, exploring the boundaries, paths and changing light that shape a landscape. Alongside it, his Studio Works explore the figure, expression and the atmosphere around a person.
Working primarily in acrylic, Andrew builds layered surfaces through colour, texture and expressive mark-making. Across both landscape and figurative work, he is interested in more than a literal likeness: each painting seeks to hold something of the mood and felt experience of its subject.
