Blue Eyes began as a portrait inspired by Frank Sinatra’s unmistakable presence and style. While Sinatra provided the starting point, the painting soon took on a life of its own through layers of colour, texture and mark-making. The work eventually found a home in the private collection of my life long friend, Darrel, whose appreciation for expressive portraiture and character-driven art made him the ideal custodian of the piece. Today, Blue Eyes stands as both a tribute to an iconic figure and a reminder of the personal connections that art can create.
