About this work

Held Distance explores the subtle spaces that exist between people. Three figures sit facing the horizon, united by place yet separated by thought. The composition captures a familiar human experience: being physically present with others while remaining immersed in individual reflections, memories and emotions. Balancing observation with abstraction, the painting invites viewers to consider the nature of connection and the quiet distances that can exist even within moments of companionship.
