About this work

Held in Red reflects on the relationship between emotion and abstract structure within an internal landscape. Geometric forms in reds, charcoal blacks, and whites emerge and dissolve, suggesting memories contained within the architectural feel of the work. This painting is a part of Andrew Bowers' Quiet Divides series, which frequently explores the subtle structures that organise our experience. Presented within a black floating frame, the piece offers a focused contemplative space.
